What You Get That You Would Not Find Elsewhere

The differences that matter — in how the programmes are built, who teaches them, and what participants walk away with.

Six Things That Shape the Formanova Experience

Scope Is Always Written Down

Before any programme starts, participants receive a written document covering what is and is not included, the session sequence, time commitment and assessment criteria. There are no surprises about what you are buying.

Taught by People Currently in the Work

Teaching is led by practitioners who have spent significant time in the roles the programmes address — not career academics. The examples come from real situations, not reconstructed case studies.

Deliverables, Not Attendance Records

Every programme ends with substantive written work — a research write-up, an experiment portfolio or an applied project assessment. The output exists whether or not you ever show it to anyone.

Small Cohorts as a Design Choice

Cohort sizes are capped because peer learning is a core part of the value, not an add-on. Participants encounter people dealing with genuinely similar problems, and that proximity matters.

Built for the Malaysian Market

Case material, market references and guest practitioners are drawn from Malaysia and Southeast Asia. The programmes were not adapted from curricula designed for another market; they were built here.

Honest About What Data Can Support

Measurement discipline is threaded through the curriculum — including the discipline of not drawing conclusions the data cannot support. This makes the learning useful in environments where confidence is abundant and rigour is not.

Each Benefit Explained

Practitioner Expertise

Formanova's teaching team are people who spent years in the roles that the programmes address. Nurul Ain spent over a decade in product and commercial functions at technology companies. Rajan led research and insights at consumer goods and fintech organisations. Lim Wei Teng built and ran growth operations teams at scale-ups. They teach from accumulated operational experience, not from a distance.

  • Curriculum shaped by direct experience in each domain
  • Examples drawn from actual situations, not composites
  • Guest practitioners from the Malaysian market

Programme Structure and Process

Each programme follows a defined session sequence with specific learning objectives per session. Participants know what each session covers before it happens. There is a trade-off document for every programme — a written statement of what the course includes and what it explicitly does not — so enrolment decisions are made with accurate information.

  • Written scope document shared before enrolment
  • Session-by-session learning plan available to participants
  • Annual curriculum review against participant feedback

Support During the Programme

Support is built into the programme structure rather than offered as an ad-hoc option. The Growth Operations Track includes fortnightly clinics. The Senior Practice Programme includes a dedicated adviser and a peer coaching group of six. Research Basics includes a peer critique session and a reviewed write-up. Participants are not left to work through problems alone.

  • Structured support included in every programme fee
  • Adviser relationship for the Senior Practice Programme
  • Peer critique built into Research Basics

Transparent Pricing

Programme fees cover all sessions, materials, workbooks, assessed work and support structures. There are no add-on costs for resources that should be part of the course. Pricing reflects the scope of each programme: RM 520 for Research Basics, RM 1,860 for the Growth Operations Track, RM 4,520 for the Senior Practice Programme. We publish fees openly so comparisons are easy to make.

  • All-inclusive fees with no hidden extras
  • Pricing published and stable across enrolment periods
  • Instalment options may be available for longer programmes

What Participants Typically Notice

The feedback we receive most often from participants is not about specific topics covered but about the quality of thinking they bring to decisions after the programme. Research Basics participants report being more careful about what a small dataset can and cannot tell them. Growth Operations participants describe building reporting practices that their teams actually use. Senior Practice participants report being more deliberate about which problems to own directly and which to delegate structurally. These are changes in how people work, not just what they know.

Distinctive Features of the Formanova Approach

The Trade-Off Document

Every Formanova programme has a written statement of what is included and what is deliberately left out. This is unusual. Most education providers sell on breadth; we sell on clarity. Knowing what a course does not cover is as useful as knowing what it does.

Research Exercise in Week One

Research Basics begins with participants designing and running a small research exercise in the first week. The theory follows the practice, not the other way around. This sequencing is a deliberate pedagogical choice that makes the methodology stick faster.

Experiment Portfolio in Growth Operations

The Growth Operations Track ends with a written summary of the experiment portfolio built during the course. Participants do not just learn how to run structured experiments — they run them, and document the results with honest readouts of what the data did and did not show.

Panel Review at the Close of Senior Practice

The Senior Practice Programme concludes with a presentation to a panel of practitioners — not an exam, not a test, but a structured professional encounter with people whose judgement matters in the Malaysian business environment. This is closer to how senior decisions are actually evaluated.
